Dex Cool or the green stuff...and internal engine cleaning...

Since im replacing the headgaskets (slowly but surely between work, school, weather and when im not in excrutiating pain), when its all cleaned up and back together, should i switch to dexcool? will i get any benefit? the dexcool is supposed to be more friendly on the gaskets supposedly? (the car is a 95 LT1)

also, before i get everything back togehter, whats the best way to clean out the motor from the crappy oil/coolant mixture? unfortunately, i dont have a garden hose readlily available (i live in an apartment, and doing this in the parking lot.) the radiator i can just yank out and take it to a hose and flush it out completely, but the motor is gonna be hard to do lol. but once its back together, i can run it somewhere (35 miles away) to families house and flush the coolant again and refill it but im not thinking thats a great idea.

any thoughts?

I recently asked the guys about the orange vs green and an overwhelming amount suggest green. Plus, if you switch you need to clean the other stuff out real well.

I dont know which is better but I use the orange GM approved dexcool and have not had a single problem I could attribute directly to the coolant whatsoever.

just make absolute sure that you don't have any green coolant left in there. If you mix the green with Dexcool it basically turns to jello in your block. I just filled mine up with the yellow mix with all makes and models ****.
