We may be beating a dead horse just to find out that GM did put Dex Cool in some cars and not others. Maybe mine's an oddity, because it came with Dex Cool, it tells me to use it in the owners manual as well as under the hood, but I did not get an oil cooler. Hmmmm
Oh, I know of plenty of 1995s that got Dexcool from the factory-no dispute, there. Just not before 1995.

FYI...

My 1994 T/A DOES use Dex-Cool. It is clearly marked that it requires Dex-Cool.

Interesting.. Do you know if it was an early or late production car?

Do we have a 93?

As a mechanic, I can tell you Dex-cool and green coolant don't make a good mixture. But Dexcool does perform better if your system is working properly. So I would reccomend using it if and only if you have your system properly flushed and remove all of the green coolant first.

That generally only happens when people use a non-OEM radiator cap.

late production... to my knowledge the 25ths were all made later, but I could be wrong.

Made in 05/94

Cool

Copied from Motor Tren mag,October 1998,page 145===
Both Havoline and prestone, for instance make long life antifreeze,developed by texico but also distributed by GM as dex-Cool,provides for up to five years or 150,000 miles,which ever comes first.It's been used in most '96 and newerGM vehicles as standard equipment,which has allowed GM to extend the recommended flushing interval to five years.It's also safe for most newer GM vehicles.On '93 and older GM models,use of this antifreeze is discouraged because it's chemical ingredients can interact with the copper-soldered joints inside the radiator.
Then it goes on about some other stuff but,
Niether of these products should be mixed with conventional antifreeze:while this wouldn't degrade the coolant performance,it would negate any type of long-term protection benefits.
Hope this helps.
