I was looking for a set of plugs for my AFR 210 Comp Ported heads. They recomend a starting range of NGK FR4's. I was talking to a speed shop ad they also said start there and see what kind of knock and Detonation you may have and move your heat range and gap to see what will work best for your motor.

Now I started thinking, I know what the terms KNOCK and DET mean for the most part but Im unsure how to tell what the symptoms look and sound like. What am I looking for?

My 383 has started up and idled for me. It's not very smooth. The RPM's kind of bounce around alittle bit but all under 900 RPM or a hair above. Im not finished tightening all the crap down on the intake and filter and I have to finish the exhaust as well as other odds and ends so Im not sure what is going on but I don't know what I'm looking for either.
