descreening MAF

is it really that great of a small mod descreening it? i mean im sure if it gives a lil bump of HP without any worries of messing up the car down the road im willing to do it. but, what is everyone else opinion on it?

Itll idle like crap and only make a .001 HP difference for a day or two, then the computer will notice something is up and take the power away. Like the other guy said, in one word DONT!

I descreened mine and it was fine. However, I did not port it since I figured it was calibrated to that size air cavity. No running problems at all. If I'm not mistaken, it's held in by a retaining ring. Just pop it out, and if it acts up after that, put it back in an reset the PCM.

As far as it being a good mod, I wouldn't know...I did it at the same time as a cold air induction, headers and cam. Hard to say, but as tight as the screen is, I'm sure it makes a small improvement.
