Delteq or no?
Delteq or no?
My opti just went on me and when looking into alternatives the delteq came up. I did a lot of reading on it but could someone tell me why its worth the 600.00 plus if there is no performance gain?
I could buy another three opti's for that price.
Not putting the system down persay...I just want you guys to "sell" it to me.

Yes you could buy another 3 optis. Have fun spend the $ on labor to have them changed. Or if you do it yourself you must not mind changing optis. If that's the case how about you come change mine while your at it

$600, and you get new wires, and new coils. And dont need a msd or crane box for better spark. So right there that is worth about $250 if you were going to get new wires, a new lt1 coil, and a msd box for your stock ignition. So to me that makes the actual delteq system cost about $350.

i was looking into it but there was a thread awhile back where alot of people were having tons of problems with the delteq one person started the thread and like 4 others chimed in saying their cars were running worse with the delteq then with a working opti.

Yes, I believe I know what you are talking about but this was a interface issue. The Problem was with the wiring set up with the customers car NOT the Delteq system….. There were issues with this car before the Delteq Unit was even installed.
I have been a board member for some time know and have a very good reputation for being an honest guy..
The Delteq unit as a one-year warranty on ALL parts of the Opti-Direct Stage 1 System.
I stand 100% behind this product and if there is any problems I will replace any parts and help out in any way that I can to correct any issues.
Please do not confuse any prior issues with a car and relating them with the Delteq System as being the culprit

My car has been sitting in the garage for 2 months, and even after all this troubleshooting (scanmaster) and replacing parts (you name it), everything still points to the Delteq. I was supposed to have already returned the Opti-direct kit WEEKS ago, but I wanted to make certain first that the problem is NOT my car. I'm swapping in a new opti as I type this, as a last resort.
In any case, I would have to say that this seems to be a rather atypical case, and I would still strongly urge anyone to at least TRY the Delteq. If it works, then great, and if it doesn't, then you can return it. I'm sure Pete @ Delteq will help with all he can.
And to Kmook, the reason I did not hook my optispark back up is due to my benevolence towards others. I gave away my coil and ignition module to someone down in Georgia. I'm certainly not going to buy a new coil, module, and set of ignition wires UNLESS I'm sticking with the optispark.
Have a good one...
Well I don't think anyone is had a problem with the LTCC except maybe in the beggining where they don't know where the 2 pink wires connect & the 1 white one which is easy as hell, after that I haven't seen any further complaints with the LTCC like I did with Delteq, plus you get 8 coils which I still think is cool when I open the hood

Would you like me to give you examples?
Tach doesn't work Low rpm miss error codes
Idle problems wiring problem More wiring issues Missing
I love the LTCC don't get me wrong, i just hate when people push a product and put down another based on unsound opinions. EVERY product has problems, and will not work correctly for some people.

wow what the heck ya'll I never knew this! I'm changing my opti as we speak because I got a red blink from the LTCC saying high RES failed, it better be the gosh dangit OPTI, I just never knew anyone had problems & when I got the red blinking LED I thought thats my opti which is practically new, I sure hope it is.
I did some reading...
With the delteq there is a more accurate reliable spark but it isnt any stronger than the OEM setup?
Also what coil packs will work?, only the northstar's? What if I pick up a couple 6 cyl packs?

I don't know all the problems of either system, I only have the ltcc.
But what I do know is that Bob's customer service is superb! I just got around to setting mine up and I'm haveing problems getting it to start. But he has been right there for me usually within a couple hours replying via email. Even stupid questions he is more than willing to answer. The last bit of parts I need are comeing in today from jason so I'll be finishing it up tonight or tommorrow by the latest. Because I know his speedy responses are going to guide me step by step untill it runs.
