Jason. i did one better while testing. I installed a completely different set of coils. I have three complete sets(with base plate) including the MSD set. the fault was not the MSD.

HERE IS THE ""UPDATE!""

Totally removed the Delteq and install a MSD cap and rotor kit on the same opti I was using and the car runs perfect! Started with the first touch of the key and ran for 15 minutes non-stop!

I found the very best place for the Delteq was on the bench!

I have a 350, wish I had a 355 lol, not sure on the delteq but no probs with ltcc.

All i can think of concerning the delteq is that its a waste spark system meaning it will fire one cylinder on the compression stroke while the other on the exahaust, now if your cam is too big then i can see how firing the exhaust might actually ignite any unburnt fuel because of the overlap on the exahust side.

tires spinning past 90MPH in direct holding steady at 7,100

 

My Delteq has worked great, currently with a 23X/24X .60X/.60X 10X cam. Fired it up last night for the first time with the new MSD DIS-4.

 

Im running a 242/252 @.50 HR cam in my 396 with the Delteq, and it has no problem lighting the cylinders at 6500 RPM plus. Only problem I have is the pegged BLM's at idle because of the cam.

Yeah, I need to do some more tuning. I guess pegged wasnt the right word, I should have said split.

Maybe your Delteq is faulty?????

My car idled and revved fine with my Delteq and my cam is actually a big cam (compared to what I have seen in this thread).

What you should be doing is getting the thing replaced.

 

The Delteq is fine, its just the cam and the reversion happening in the intake driving the 02's a little nuts at idle, thats all. The car revs, and drives fine. I guess that happens with 242 degrees intake duration Oh, and not to mention Im still on my mail order tune.

Not to go off track, get a Holley TB to fix splitting problems and play with IDLE. The holley TB forces almost all the air to go through the IAC, gives you more control of the split, mine is 242/250 and no probs with any splits, all the same both sides with holley, any other TB and I get uncontrollable splits.

 

Hey Bunker, I have already addressed that issue as well. I have an AS&M 58 on the car, and everyone is aware of the "short circuit" on them. The IAC passage just draws air from the plenum, and doesnt draw air through the IAC passage in the intake. I have used the fix on LJ's website about fixing this, and it has helped somewhat, but not cured it. I have a Monoblade that I will be trying out soon anyway, so we will see what can of worms that opens up.
