I told you to get that damn GM847! It is by far the sickest off the shelf grind when you have all the details ironed out like you do. That car is probably useless in 1st and 2nd at WOT!

Great numbers! Is that through a ported intake?
Whats with that dip in the TQ curve?

Yes, good call..... I def need some sticky tires. On a side note someone pm me if you know good software to break up one big *** .vob file into smaller uploadable avi files. (my sony handycam combines all the vids into one file)

The intake was indeed ported by Lloyd. As far as the dip in the TQ..... I had that with Ion's tune as well.

great numbers for an off the shelf grind. How's the drivability compared to the old custom cam?

Behaves very well on the street. Of course I have a manual trans so take that for what it is worth. I don't have a very good opinion of the old cam so I won't even make a comparison to this one.

Looks like you got the bugs worked out and it made some bad *** #'s on the dyno.

It must be REAL fun to drive and tough to keep between the ditches on street tires.

What was your impression of Ed, and his work/buisness? I've done some buisness with him in the past, and I have nothing but good things to say. and the last mail order I got from him(to get the car streetable) was damn near dead on.

He is a cool guy. Not very talkative. He is just all about business. I'll tell you what he said one time when I was up there. Now mind you this isn't as funny as if you hear it from Ed but I'll share it anyways. We were at his shop one afternoon and there was a Callaway Corvette sitting right outside. Well, we were damn near drooling all over it and he walked up and started talking about the car. I asked how much power it had. He said it made 800 hp to the tires. Now you have to imagine if it was your car and you said with excitement 800 horsepower to the tires! (looking for a reaction from your buddies like 'wow'). He is the exact opposite. In other words, that car didn't impress him. I said of course 'holy ****! thats awesome!'. His reply was (with a straight face mind you) 'eh....it's like an 18 inch dick.....just for show.....it aint good for anything'. He then turned around and walked away. That right there is Ed Wright in a nutshell.

Yes, that is Ed all the way

The dip is pretty typical for an LT1 with a stock-style manifold.

You know, I looked at the graph half-expecting a peaky torque curve with no ***** down low.
That's what you always hear, "big peak, no meat"
But after comparing it to various custom grind dynos I've seen,
I really can't say that that is true, at least nothing significant above 2000rpm.
Awesome numbers man, let's see what she does at the track.

Lloyd has a similar grind on his website now, except it's a 107 LSA.
The dyno sim shows 7-10rwhp gains up above 6000rpm by going that route with no real loss down low.
I also found that you can gain a little more up top by advancing it 2*.
All theoretical of course, it's just a simulator. and it also doesn't understand the aggressive lobes used in custom cams.
