DEI Exhaust wrap

Hey guys, pickin up a set of uncaoted hooker LT's. Got a killer deal, and money is tight so can't afford the jet-hot coating, or the jet hot headers for that matter. Anyway, anyone using The DEI exhaust wrap...Link pictured here? Not so much to keep the headers form rustin, jsut to protect wires, etc. THanks

Ive used header wrap before.

I have wraps on my long tubes that are in my old truck. They're not much to look at, but man do they ever keep the underhood temps down. I think they are a good alternative to the coating, as a matter of fact i may wrap the next set of coated headers i get, who knows. but anyways i say go for it, just make sure to wear gloves when working with that stuff, its kinda like that fiberglass pink panther insulation stuff.

i wouldn't wrap them. I had a set of SLP's i bought used that had been wrapped before and they were extremely rusty they were flaking apart. If they had been such thick tubes they would of been shot. SLP's are stainless steel so i am sure hookers wouldn't last at all with wrap.

I've been running DEI wrap on my coated Hooker longtubes for over 3 years now without a problem. I pulled the wrap off once and there wasn't any rust at all underneath. There were some marks from the wrap on the coating but nothing major. The headers are definitely not falling apart. I chose the wrap because it reduces underhood temperatures, which is a major problem with Hooker longtubes.
