Dead Soft Aluminium???

Any tried the Percys "dead soft aluminium" header gaskets? They are kinda expensive, 39 for a set for an LT1, but its seems like they would be awesome. Anyone got any experience?

Yep. Used them on 3 sets of headers. They work really well and are even reusable. You just need to make sure you tighten the bolts up again after the first few times you let the headers heat up and you'll be set. They sell them at Autozone now, by the way.

Well I have a set of those on my car and let me put it this way to you... Id probably have less leaks with NO gasket at all.

I tried the dead soft aluminum collector gaskets, at $20, they're not cheap either. Blew both of them out within a month. Junk.

Mr Gasket Ultra Seals and Felpro have both proven themsleves with me, I'd go with them. GM exhaust manifold gaskets are very good too.

There great. But you have to use them for the right application.

Stock car, with shorty headers. They work great.

Car with mild cam and long tubes. stock heads. You will blow them out big time. So it really depends, if you got a cam get the copper ones, they do work good. Hope that helps

I have them on a cam/heads car with lt's and dual exhaust and have had no problems. I had to tighten them up 3 times within the first week of driving it but thats expected with new gaskets. I will buy them again if I put headers on another car!!!
