dashlights flicker, low voltage
I have a 94z and just the other night while driving I noticed the speedo and tach start to flicker, but the engine ran fine, the idle was steady. I stopped and when I tried to restart I had to give the car gas to start. So today I try to duplicate the problem and the tach and speedo start to flicker. I also notice the voltage guage is dropping into the red. Hook up the scanner and I'm watching the voltage jump around from 12.5 - 10.2. I think ok, bad alt. I replace the alt and its still doing the same thing. At the battery I'm showing 13.5 volts with a voltmeter, but guage and scanner show much lower. The guage on this car used to read around 3/4, now its sits 1/2 or less. The car runs and idles perfect, its just the guages go funky. Any suggestions?

Dashlights flicker and voltmeter jumping
Hi i have a 2002 z28. For as long as I have had the car the dashlights would flicker quickly and then stop after car warmed up. Now for the past three days it is constant and the voltmeter is jumping around after increasing in RPMs and now having car jerk back and forth while in second gear as if a dead cylinder. I Believe is possibly a loose connection as the old chevy vehicles have had with the starter bolts always coming loose after 50k. please help with any info
