Hey FastZ, I think you are on the right track. When the end cap was replaced the first time, it started cracking the very next day and I noticed the fain assembly didnt appear to be in its clip, the one closest to the radiator cap, but it was so cold outside that I didnt fool with it. This time everything looks in order, I just checked and no cracks so far, keeping my fingers crossed. Sounds like the radiator guy was just trying to cover up a bad job. Man, and he was such a nice guy too, but then again he did fix it for free. Just thought I would share with everyone. I am so relieved not to be spending $1300 dollars for new headgaskets and the head work I was gonna do while having that done.

Edit: That might be what cracked it after I had it replaced, but I still dont know what cracked it the first time.... Maybe it was just old age.

Cool, hope that fixes it. I just thought back to when I replaced my radiator, I got a bad one and as soon as I installed it one of the tabs that the A/C condensor slides into broke off! It seems that someone bought that radiator, broke it and sent it back, then, not seeing an obvious defect the company sold it again. I could tell because it wasn't packaged very well or sealed up. When that company sent my replacement to me it was packaged nicely and sealed. You just have to be real careful around the radiator, that's just a **** poor design!
