dark day.
dark day.
the other day was one of the darkest day i have had in awhile. i took my girlfriend for a ride in my camaro and the unthinkable happened. it looks like the crankshaft has snapped right behind the timing chain. i am still in shock, i i dont know weather to get mad of cry. the engine has less than 2000 miles on it. it is a golen 383, so i guess i should give chad golen a call and see what he says. i swear to god i will never use any eagle products ever agian. i have allready had an issue with this crank once, because eagle bored the hole for the pilot bearing too big and neglected to own up to it or create a solution until about a year later. im really at odds right now, i have not had the time to pull the engine yet and im terified to find out what other damage might have been done. im seriously thinking about cutting my losses and pieceing it out and seeing what i can get for it. i really dont know what im gunna do yet, but there is one thing i do know, THIS SUCKS!
Did you actually see the break in the crank?
I saw the owner of a top LT1 shop come to the same conclusion after taking his car through an all out, low 9-second pass. The end of the crank appeared to be flopping. Turned out all that happened was the hub for the ATI SuperDamper broke, under the extreme load of the blower pulley.
