Dark coolant out of weep hole?

Well as some of you guys may know, I've been having alot of waterpump issues. I crawled under there yesterday and noticed cooland and what looked like oil coming form the weep hole. When i wipe my finger across it its red on my finger and kind of jellyish. The car runs perfect yet. Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

by weep hole, are you talking about the radiator??

it could be tranny fluid. remove radiator, flush it, flush the motor, and reattach the tranny cooler lines.

Re: Dark coolant out of weep hole?

What water pump problems? If you are referring to the weep hole on the H2O pump that means the pump is shot. The red stuff you see is just the dex cool (kind of a rusty red).

At any rate, the engine Will run fine unless your pump goes on you and you over heat and destruct.

So if you haven't changed the water pump, I'd consider that my first move and if that weep hole drowns the opticrap you are looking a additional problems. JMHO

You could always consider getting an electric water pump. Never have to worry about the weep hole again.

^^^ then you just have to worry about changing the electric WP when it goes bad.
