Damaged an oil rail during piston install...

During piston install on the #8 one of the oil rails got damaged and I dont feel good using it. I have the Mahle .030" pistons.

Is it safe to say that if I got a single piston ring set from a parts house then I could just use the one rail even though it is not Mahle. I would of course ensure that the thickness is the same.

I am not sure if Mahle would just sell me the one rail.
Any advice?

You mean one of the oil rings on the piston?

I would call up Mahle and have an exact one shipped to you.

Yeah the smooth oil ring, some call them rails. I will call Mahle and hopefully they will provide just the one ring. Someone said they want to only sell a full set.
