Damage from Bottoming out...

If you bottomed out hard..what could potentially be damaged? Would just the frame hit? or would anything else connect?? Varying Degrees...say 20mph (least amount of damage), 40mph?, 60mph?, 100mph (worst case) Thanks..

Bottoming out typically hits the Y-pipe collector...

LMAO , one time I ran over one of those little (well not so little) concrete islands they use to direct traffic in gas station entrances. I just didnt see it it was the same freakin color as the pavement. I hupped up on to it and stopped after the jolt . Got out the car and I was up in the air !!! lol. Then I drove it off slowly and parked . No real damage tho , thank god I have shorties. Only thing that got scraped was the kmember I think.

Thanks for the replies guys.. Its a last hope thing.. Ive been racking my brain now for days... car suddenly dying/ dropping oil pressure literally out of the blue. The only thing that happened was me bottoming out... it was stupid.. I was hauling up a road that Ive only been down a few times..theres a hill but nothing excessive. Near my GFs house... Im pushing 100.. look down..see the hill... back off..cover the brake pedal as she says "this is where I bottomed out in my old car really bad".. I got on the brakes for a second before impact. Im just wondering if this stupid *** stunt damaged something.

I have to drive a special route to school or I will bottom out everyday and my car isnt even lowered! The things that hit on my car are the B&M deep pan, the Mufflex ypipe, or sometimes the front of my Spohn Tq arm.

if you lost oil pressure after that and its consistantly low, theres a good chance you knocked the oil pump pickup assembly loose or off completely. You would need to pull the pan to get it back on.

That should clue you in to why its a bad idea to be doing 100mph on city streets (among other far more dangerous things)

Its ok dad... Thanks for the tip.. (Im serious..gonna pull the pan and check for that)..as far as doing 100 down that road... nothing is out there...except the gay dip in it.. Not like I could kill corn or anything Besides 100mph is weak.. and I save the 150+ stuff for interstate.

I a bump in my 84 at about 40mph and broke all four ears on my T5. Had to pull the trans. and have them rewelded.
