Optispark or Opti= do a search! If you car is running good, then you probably dont need to change it yet.
Cut-out= do a search as well, but its more a less a "Y" exhuast component type pipe, that typically goes after the cat and releases the air faster out through the end of the pipe, rather then all the way towards the end of your exhaust pipes. Makes the car louder, typically you'll see some nice gains and its CHEAP! Great mod IMO. You can also "cap" the end so that you can open it when u want, like at the track etc. They also have an electrical cut-out that u can open/close from your car seat.

I HIGHLY suggest the first 2 mods to be CAI= Cold Air Intake or Induction and a Cat-back..
I personally would steer away from just adding a muffler like a flowmaster and get a cat-back.But if u want one, i'll sell u one cheap! It the K/N a FIPK or just the air filter?

Then i'd look into headers (LT's if no emmisions and shorties or midlengths if emmisions) before a hotcam kit.
After headers, if A4, i'd get 3.73's/stall combo...

THEN i'd think about the hotcam kit. Price through Jason Cromer is about 500 shipped. Benfits: nice kit thats complete, cheap and WILL pass emmisions. If emmisions arent necessary, GO BIGGER!

Also theres the suspension route you could do as well...SFC for
t-tops are a MUST IMO, and lca's and relocation brackets are a nice combo as well..

Theres a lot of things u can do and a lot of different paths. I'd sit down and think about what u want out of your car and what your future goals and plans are.
Good luck

EDIT: I see you have headers already and a M6...What gears you have right now?

changed my plugs/wires a month ago...my process:

driver side:
remove the air intake and elbow. you should be able to get the front three plugs from the top with a bit of trying (be patient). the rear one can be gotten from underneath. i was able to get them all without using a "universal" extension. the rear one has a strange routing for the wire, kindda goes backwards, inside a heat sheild then forward.

passenger side:
remove the alternator. the crawl under the car and remove the passenger motor mount bolt. it is a 15mm bolt on front and an 18mm nut on the back. i used an endwrench braced against the crossmember and a socket on the front to remove it. then jack the motor up 2 or so inches (only did 2 due to my stb...maybe able to go more). by doing this you will expose all 4 plugs and you can reach all of them from the top with very little hassle.

wires:
i ran taylor spiro-pro 8mm from thunder racing ($50). they fit into all the stock looms with very little hassle. in order to get the wires into the "channeled" loom on the front of the block i removed the tensioner pullie (alt and belt were off already) which is just two 10mm bolts. this gives un-obstructed access to that front loom.

I think let the searching begin would be a better approach - most of your questions have been ased and answered many times before.
