Daily Driver: head/cam or turbo?

I've got some money to spend now, and I've gotten it narrowed down to either a LE stage 2 H/C combo or a rear mount turbo. I figure I could get the turbo parts used for about what I would spend to get for the LE stuff. I figure wither one is going to put me up around 400 rwhp, which is where I'm looking to stay for the time being. Keep in mind I drive it at least 60 miles a day. I was thinking the turbo might be a little better for that purpose. While I like the sound of turbos on some cars, I think it might sound out of place on an LT1. So go ahead and let the opinionated facts fly.

personally I'd go for the head/cam setup. mostly just because I like a deep throaty exhaust and would hate to hear the spooling whine of the turbo. JMO though.

I'd definately go the turbo, especially if the boost is modest (4-5 PSI). The head and cam will make the car more hot rod sounding and give plenty of power, but a turbo will keep it's driving charateristics, but with 100 extra horses.

I vote H/C. More reliable in my opinion. Also rear mount turbos are easy to steal, especially when people know you have a turbo on your car.

Oh, never thought of that. Well, I guess I can get the rear mount for free.

I hate theives. I love living in a town where I can leave my front door unlocked and my keys in my car if I feel like it.

id say turbo..if you have the right motor...a small amount of boost will be handled plenty. Im doing a 383 and just bought a t88 88MM turbo for my car. As soon as i can find a piston to handle over 20lbs..ill be fine.

a turbo SS sounds soooo sexy, you will make all the ricers jealous, i have the LE2 combo on my car, i love it, but when the motor's done, im building it for a turbo and taking the LE2 cam out for a custom turbo cam, keeping the heads though cause they are just so nice
