Cylinder Walls

I was looking at a picture of an LT1 block and I noticed that the cylinder walls are very close to each other. I was wondering what boring it .030 would do to the strength of the block. It doesn't even look like theres enough material to bore before hitting the next cylinder.

.030 over is no problem, Mine is .040 over and stroked to 385. You can even go .060 but I wouldn't go past that.

.060 over is the practical limit on the lt1 most likely.

however .090 has been done on an lt1. For either one, you would want to sonic check the block and magnaflux it to make sure that there is no core shift or any cracks.

If I remember right there is 4.4XX inches centerline to centerline on the bores. anything beyond 4.040 and you may have to do a partial block fill or run dangerously thin walls.
