For $25 you get a good 10 RWHP. It's the best dollar to HP ratio there is.

I was looking at one from Summit Racing. It has a cable to open and shut it for $47. Is it worth it?

When I open my cutout at the track my times drop by usually between 1 and 1.5 tenths and my MPH increases by 1. For $25 how can you beat it except for filling up a Nitrous Bottle....

These gains were seen on the same night with the same 60' times and the weather was the same.

Definitely get a cutout. But those pull cord ones suck. Too small, and they don't seal very good at all. Just get a regular 3" cutout like the Flowtech. If you really hate getting under the car to uncap it, you can get an electronic cutout plate like I have.

How much power you'll see from a cutout depends on what catback you have right now. If you have a free flowing catback like Borla or SLP, you probably won't see much, if any gain with a cutout. On a car with a stock catback or just an aftermarket muffler, a cutout will give you the gains stated above.

Cut-outs are definitly worth it, only if you put it before your cat. If its after the cat then its already been resticted and you should just let it flow through the cat-back. If you can't put it before your Cat, then gut your cat and put it after it . Either way its still worth it and it sounds BADASS!!!

You can get a Electric Cut-Out from QUICK TIME PERFORMANCE

I disagree. My cutout is after my cat and I have a dyno proven 10 RWHP increase with it uncapped.

Where do you race? You may want to verify that your local track allows cutouts. There are a lot of noise ordinances in effect and many tracks in the more populated areas.

True, but on a stock or modified motor?? I am assuming his motor is stock or has minimal bolt-ons. I doubt 10 hp with stock motor, but it could be. I recomend that he should get one. I also have seen dyno proven 10+ HP with cut-outs and then I have seen a 1-2 HP increase.

Yes, my motor includes headers and a CAI which would improve the breathing. In that sense you're right.

Definitely worth it!!! I have one of the best gains I have seen on a bolt on car with a cut-out. I have a cai, maf, Hooker shortie headers, 3 inch hi flo cat, and flowmaster 3 inch american thunder.

I dynoed 254rwhp capped and 269.3 uncapped!!!! Hp #'s are a little low for my mods due to my Stall converter (3200).......but I dynoed just about 350 RWTQ!!!!
