Re: The Cutout Situation
I dont really have any pics to post, but I installed mine right before the bend of the exhaust pipe at the back. This is right before it goes up and over the rear axle to the muffler, makes it easy to access and keeps the cutout after the cat. Hope this helps.

Re: The Cutout Situation
The point is to bypass the muffler and axle bend restriction, no so much the cat. I gained I believe 7 RWHP with my cutout open at the LEAN! A/F ratio and mods in my sig.
Re: The Cutout Situation
The best place to put it(IMO) is about 8" forward of the axle bend. This way there is room if you decide to get an electric head for it. Plus when it is open, it is not as loud.

Re: The Cutout Situation
Ok, I just ordered one from DMH. I ordered the 3" one to go behind the cat, but the cat on my car is hollow so its probably going to be really loud no matter where I put it. It was only $170 with the group purchase, but the GP ends today so if anyone elese is gonna order one, Do It Now!
Re: The Cutout Situation
for future reference, there is no generic 'right' place to put your cut out. the only way to know where you are going to gain the most power is to go drive the hell out of your car and take an infrared thermometer and slowly take it down the exhaust system and watch where the EGTs fall off. or, if you dont have a good thermometer, take some high temp paint and paint from your y-pipe back. wherever the paint stops melting off, stick the cutout there.
