Re: Cutout placement

You would probably want to place the cutout a little further, more so right before the rear axle. This will help reduce interior noise and rattles.

I completly agree.....this is where I placed mine and you get the best of both worlds, increase in loudness with little to no extra vibration.

Yea that is where my is, right behind the passenger seat, it was the farest up I could fit it, and I like it there alot, very few rattles if any at all.

Re: Cutout placement

I used to have mine right before the rear axle.

I then purchased a QTP Electric Cut-out and moved it to before the Catalytic converter. It is pretty loud with it open...with my 383, sounds like an old school muscle car .... but I get maximum power when I want it... and close it any other time.

BTW... the Cat and piping after the Y Pipe was modified a little to get the cutout to fit high enough not to scrape anything.

Re: Cutout placement

you might want to take some different lengths of exhaust pipe and find out where it sounds best...i had mine open before the (gutted) cat for a while...and it was loud...really loud...but it sounded like crap and popped like crazy...i moved the cutout about 1.5 to 2 ft back and it sounds really clean and deep...it makes all the difference what headers you have...just a thought though

Re: Cutout placement

put it right before the rear axle. I'd also get an Ecutout too. You'll love it.
