I can get a cutout, installed, for around $80.

Or I can get a used K+N CAI from a guy for $80...

Which would you do, and why?

 

You should be able to get a cut out installed for near 30.00 and pay 30.00 for it....thus; you are getting ripped.

 

I would probably go w/ the CAI b/c i don't hear too many deals where you can get a hold of one of those for $80. Also, i saw much bigger gains w/ the CAI than I did w/ the cut out.

 

Cheapest I've seen a 3" cutout is $34.99. And after installation, it'd be $75-$80 total, from what I've heard...

 

I guess ripped isn't a good term, my bad. I paid a lil over $60. I bought it from JEGS and got it installed by a locl muffler shop for about $30. Maybe i scored a really good deal or something.

 

Summit sells their own version of a cut-out for like $27, that's what I bought.

 

Get the CAI... I highly doubt you'll be running around town with the cutout open to notice any gains.

 

I'm too big to get under the car...so once it was open, it'd stay open, lol.

EDIT: and I hope you love breathing in exhaust gases when you're not moving.

 

If Mustangs can run openheaders, and dump exhaust before the axles, and not get any crap...Don't see why I would.

And it's probably going to be a cutout, cause I found a local guy willing to sell me the cutout off of his car for $10.00.

If you're a riceboy... 30-45hp. Unfortunately, us non-ricers only get 8-15rwhp... at least from what I've seen/heard.
