Cutout?

I am getting ready to order a cutout but i am not sure what size to go with. What is everyone using? I have the stock exhaust. I was also wondering what brand? I was thinking of ordering the Flowtech one from JEGS. What do ya'll think? Thanks in advance.

Any brand is fine, they're all probably made by Flowtech. Get the cheapest. Get a 3". It slips over the stock exhaust perfectly.. They'll chop out a section of your exhaust, slip each end of the exhaust in the cutout, then weld it.

Look in my sig for where to put it, in my pics section. It's inbetween the humps for the front and back seats. Mine is angled too far down. You want it between 3 & 4 o' clock, mine is a bit past 5.

Should cost around $30 to have it welded on, give or take some. Most shops should do it, it's legal. It won't burn up your valves or carpet. Get some black primer spray paint and spray the welds after it's on.

Nope. Too loud with headers and no cat. I have a DMH electronic cutout plate. I use a switch mounted under my dash to open mine, see pics in sig. It's my favorite switch to use, until I get nitrous.

I'm going to have a cutout installed this summer, only I plan to have it put in just before the pipe enters the muffler - at the rear of the car.
I wonder if I can still get an electric c/o switch to work from that location? I hope the wires will turn out to be long enough........

Oh yeah, the CrkHedMat style cutout.

I know I had extra wire from my DMH, most of it is coiled up under my rear passenger cushion where it enters the car. Not sure if it would reach all the way back there, possibly. Lemme check and see how much extra...

I just measured, around 50 inches more right there. So I'm guessing the supplied wire would be long enough. If not, you could just buy some more and extend it, no big deal.

since you have a 95 w/ obd1, you could install it before the cat without upsetting any sensors (after cat O2 sensors on 96+ obd2). but it will be VERY loud in that position, and you will get alot of interior resonance. the typical place to install it is just before the exhaust goes up over the axle. you can either have it laying "flat" so that the cap points back and to the side or you can put it more on the bend, so that the cap points straight back. i can reach under and uncap mine in about 2 minutes without much hassle and mine points to the side. i get a little interior resonance but not very bad. at highway speeds it's not even a problem, only around town when you are using 1st and 2nd gear in the mid rpm range...then it gets a bit loud...but loud is good!
