cut out?

cut out?

what's a cut out and what does it do? People keep telling me to do a cutout with my cai and i'll feel a big difference. So what's a cut out?

its a device that bypasses the muffler to lessen restriction on exhaust.

He's implying that you should do a search which would adequately fulfill your thirst for knowledge on the subject. But basically you buy a cutout (electric or manual) and have it welded in to your I-Pipe.

Electric means that you flip a switch from the cab to open the cutout. Manual means that you get out of the car and "manually" remove the plate.

Expect to pay around $30 for the cutout, and $30 to have it installed. Worth a tenth or two, and a mph or two. Plus, the amplification of the exhaust is priceless also.

yep, if they don't know what a cut-out is, they shouldn't be doing exhaust
