custom y is this right?

ok I just had my engine rebuilt and had them do headers I bought some used single cat SLP midlengths had them jet hot coated. my car is a dual cat car i gave them the headers and Y pipe they gave me some crap about the y pipe not fitting and them having to fab up a custom Y. I look under the car when i get it back they have the passenger side header going into a cat and the drivers side header connecting to the exhaust after the cat. the passenger side header has an o2 in it and the part of the y pipe the drivers side header connects to has a o2 in it. I was under the impression the single cat Y would fit fine and theyd just fab something to connect the end of it to the cat.....are they just ripping me off here? and is the car going to run right with the current setup? sorry for the long post
