Custom PCM tunning

I just put in and Lt1 from a crapice 9c1. And i want to get my computer repogrammed to adjust for the different Cam, and iron heads, as well as the few mods i have, and any further things that can be done like removing speed limiter, dissabling vats or other performance tweeking.

Who does this? and how much would it cost?

thanks

Re: Custom PCM tunning

Well you can do it yourself if you want to go through a major learning experience. I'm thinking about picking up tunercat myself (i have an OBD-1 serial cable). Another software is LT-1 edit, it's considerably more expensive and i'm not sure exactly how much more robust it is. Might want to try looking into the computer diagnostics/programming forum.

You can get your PCM programmed several other places, www.madz28.com for example. I went with www.pcmforless.com. Cost depends on what you do. For example i believe it was $99 for my custom tune when i originally swapped out my cam and did some head work...but i didn't physically send them my PCM i had them send me a ROM image and i flashed the computer in the car with the new image using my cable (the cable runs $90 at akmcables.com). I beliueve it's a bit more if you physically send in the PCM, check websites for their prices.
