custom exhaust question

I saw a guy around here locally in va and he had an 2002 camaro z 28 with a true dual kit with an x pipe. He purchaced thie kit from texasspeed.com. It really sounded wicked. The pipes just dumped straight down right before the rear end. I have a 95 z28 and i want to know if there is a kit to do this or if i can modift the same one he has. I have searched everywhere and i cant seem to find anything. I was wondering if any of you have seem this on the lt1s and if so where I might be able get a kit or have something built.

Try doing some searches of old posts, you should find some good info and sound clips. Several members have had custom true dual setups fabbed up for very reasonable costs on their LT1s.

You can modify the same one he has if you have headers. I had to replace the bent pipe with a straight one that hooked up to the headers. I would just go with the universal summit kit if I had to do it again and save some $$.

Not really cost effective as the univeral kits, but Bassani has a true dual setup as well.

I think that there was a company that reciently put out a dual/xpipe kit for the lt1. But I just made mine from the summit universal kit. Worked out great.

Is it a pain to smog if you convert to TD's?

I've smogged my car twice now with TDs. Had cast iron manifolds both times
though. The SLPs should be fine too since they are CARB approved. We will see
in two years.
