csi waterpump

curious as to what all modifications need to be made to install the csi waterpump. Does an electric waterpump keep the waterpump from leaking out of the real seal. Also do you remove the rear shaft from the waterpump. And also do you remove the gear from the timing cover? My waterpump is slowly leaking to death and I want to go to an electric if it will stop my waterpump from killing my distributor. Thanks in advance
