should be easy to put in that motor to the water pump core but noooooooo....

Those damn ears on the water pump are catching somewhere on the pump..
I was able to put the CSI motor in flush against the water pump core by grinding way the pump where the ears are only by using the bolts to torque the CSI pump in..

I did this to see where the ears on the CSI motor were scraped up.. so i could grind away where it was catching on.. but i didnt see any marks..

I want to be able to change that pump on the side of the road if necessary and theres no way i could get the pump off the car with it so tight right now.

Its suppose to fit in there pretty easy after some grinding right?

Looks like i'll just keep grinding and grinding until its easy to put in..... its killing my hands though.

 

Now you know why the CSI pump is 65 Bucks less than the Meizere. ..More "Custom Fit" work needed.

 

Keep grinding. It took me awhile to get it so it came in/out easily.

 

Heres the deal.You have to grind the whole circumference slightly.They dont tell you that,but its the only way its going to fit.

 

My pump also was a tight fit around the outside edges. I had to pull it on with the bolts, too.

I changed mine in the garage, and it took me a while. I suppose you could do it on the side of the road, but it seems a bit hard for that. Because a replacement pump might be hard to find, I carry one in the car. I just don't think I'd go for changing it on the side of the road..

 

I had a dremel with a nice cutting bit, & it took 2 minutes to fit, just grinded on the housing (not water pump) & it fit right in.

 

Dang, I bought the Meziere HD and it went in without any problem. The only thing I had to do was clearance the fan shroud because it was the Heavy Duty, thus a little longer. Good luck, hopefully you get it done without too many more problems.

Did your Miezere (spelling) add any HO or better yet free up any HP? I saw an install page at Projecttransam.com or something where a guy did the sweap and picked up 10hp or so?

 

That's the purpose of it. An electric waterpump does not need to be driven by the camshaft like the stocker, thus freeing up some rotating mass that the valvetrain needs to spin. It also flows a constant 35gpm, opposed to 25gpm by the stocker.

 

yea grinding out the stock pump is a pain in the a**.we had an air dremle and it still took a while i didnt dremel out the whole circle but just where the four ears were touching.but it doesnt just slide in and out its a pretty tight fit

 

Hmmmm i was planning on getting a CSI. Now im thinking i should just pay up the extra cash and get the Meziere.

I thought with the standard Meziere you would have to do some work on the fan shrouds?? So if thats basically all u had to do with the HD one, it seems better to go ahead and get that one. From what i read on the board, everyone has had there equal share of problems with the CSI and Meziere. So i dont think reliablitly is going to be bad one way or another.

EXACTLY right. I was grinding and grinding and I thought to myself these ****ing ears are nowhere near the material I grounded. Then I went around the whole inner circumference a few rounds with a coarse sanding bit on the dremel and voila, pops right in.
