CSI/Meziere Elec Waterpump and Timing Chain ??

Okay,
When I did my hotcam kit install I wanted to put a new water pump and timing chain etc on the car for preventive maitenence...

Anyways From what I have seen part number 901LT1 is the number for the LT1 electric water pump kit. They are a lot chepaer then the meziere kits , are there any real reason the CSI is not as good as the Meziere ?

Also from what I heard/read , You can use a cheaper SBC timing chain when using a elec waterpump.

Is there any special chain I should look for? I'm just getting the stuff now/ soon so I can do the teardown and get this stuff done before I need to take the car a good ways for a show.

Thanks for the help in advance guys! Just trying to get some input..

Anything else I should change while I"m down there LOL ? No not the opti lol !! even though it would be super easy lol....

Get the cloyes timing chain, part # 9-3145. Should be about $80 and the thing is a BEAST. Double roller etc.

CSI from what i read uses the same internals as the meziere, go figure. I have used both of them and only problem i had with either was with the meziere. The fuse was too close to the header and melted (not the pumps fault). The csi you need to cut some little tabs in the pump housing ( i dont think the meziere was like this (i didnt install it a buddy did, i did the CSI)).

You will also need (1) 1 1/8 freeze plug, and (2) 1 1/4 freeze plugs. The 1 1/8 goes in the h20 pump housing. The 1 1/4s one goes in the hole where you pulled the h20 shaft from the block, and the other i used to go in the timing cover hole (read really tight fit, more like 1.200, but i machined it a little)

Check out http://ken.lowrance.com/Projects/CSI...mp/Default.htm
for some awesome CSI install instructions

EDIT: oh ya, when you install the cloyes chain you will need to grind out a little of the inside of the timing cover so it fits without hitting.

I just got the part# 9-3145 cloyes dbl roller for my car, and it looks really beefy. I also just got the CSI electric WP, and for the plugs we just used quarters and siliconed them in there. My cloyes didn't rub, but we ground the cover out slightly just to make sure. I hear that it rubs on only about 7 out of 10. The cloyes should be MUCH better than a stock replacement.

very good! Looks like that is the chain I will be picking up. I'll more then likely ge tthe CSI over the mezeire as well due to them being 65 bucks cheaper and just do the fitting myself.

One more thing to check out, the CPS sensor. I'm not sure if the 93's have one though, might be OBDII only. U need to delete it to run the cloyes. I'm pretty sure the OBDI's dont have it though, just throwing some info your way.
