Cruising Gear?

I don't know if this is right place for the question, but anyway, I noticed off the line, if i punch it, it moves. Now, when im going lets say 35-50 and i punch it, it doesnt seem to have that much power. So basically if Im in second or third it doesnt seem to have as much power as it does in 1st and 4th, cuz i can punch it going 70 and it goes. and when im going 25, im guessing im still in first, cuz i can punch it and the tires will spin and ill haul ***. so what gear(s) are used for cruising? this is a stock lt1 auto.
or if maybe my car just has a problem? idk it runs perfectly fine tho.

It makes sense. If you're in first gear (first starting) of course it's going to get going. Although while you are cruising you're car should down shift when you press the throttle all the way down. Atleast my V6 Camaro does.

it seems slower because the first gear ratio in a 4l60 or 4l69e is 3.08. the faster you go the harder it is to gain speed. sounds correct to me. if you are cruising at 25 mph you should be in third. you punch it it should downshift to first for a second then hit 2nd
