there are a few places that you can still buy an LT block (LT1 and LT4 blocks are exactly the same). I know I've seen them advertised in some of the magazines I get. And as far as LT1/LT4 heads they are everywhere, as well as LT1/LT4 intake manifolds. If you were looking for a crate LT1/LT4 you would be better off just building a stroker LT1.....a 383 would be the most cost affective. They have kits and such available everywhere. And sites like Golan offer full LT1 383 long blocks with great reliability. Probably even better than a stock engine. So keep looking around, and if you're looking for a replacement, just upgrade...

Check with Scoggin-Dickey I know they use to sell 383 4 bolt all forged shortblocks in varying compression ratios.

We've built a ton of LT1 'crate' engines for customers. For those wanting a little more beef we install splayed caps. AS for factory offerings, GM doesn't sell the LT blocks bare but last I checked about a year ago they were still selling new LT1 short blocks.

Try this link to Crate Engine Depot.

Just put LT1 in their search window and there you are.
The have brand new Goodwrench LT1 crate engines for sale as well as some LT1 goodies. The price for the LT1 long block is less than 5 grand.

Ya the price diff between a new lt1 shortblock from GM and a rebuilt or even performance LT1 shortblock is marginal. Go performance.

They used to be on there almost daily, but as they get older they aren't on there very often now. That's how I got the LT4 in my truck now 4 or 5 years ago and still periodically look for them in case I decide to pick up a spare someday.

Golen still has a pretty good selection of stock or built short and long blocks.
