crankshaft pulley???? NEED HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ok, ive been having this squeling/whistling noise for some time, and ive posted twice before. Well, i finally tried to figure it out again. I was hoping it was the tensioner pulley or another one of the pulleys. I took the belts off, started the car and the sounds was still there. I had a friend get under the car and check it out and he was pretty sure it was coming from the crankshaft pulley, or around it.... What could be causing this annoying noise? It comes and goes, usually when the car is cold i cant hear it, but once it warms up it makes the noise. When i drop below 1500 RPM's it usually stops or is alot quieter, but once i give throttle it comes back again. Can it be a bearing in the brankshaft or does it just need oil on it??? im clueless and need to know!!!

There are a couple possibilities.Opti bearings, water pump bearings, water pump shaft bearings,or your crank bearings.

crank shaft bearing, or crank shaft pulley bearing? the noise isnt coming from the water pump. So its either the opti or crankshaft. How hard to check or change either one?

check the harmonic balancer as well it could be slipping or have come apart and is just rotating there other than that it sounds like a waterpump or opti bearing.... grab a stethiscope and start probing around while its running and see what you hear from where just be careful not to get it wrapped up around a pully or you could be hurt

If it was the waterpump or opti bearings would i be experiencing any performance drops? So far the engine temp and everything has been fine. I havnt noticed a noticeable performance drop. But it could just be going slowly i dont notice. and, how hard to fix this problem? Would i have to replace the opti or water pump?Thanx

You don't replace opti bearings. The whole unit has to be replaced. To check the damper, grab hold of it and try to turn it back and forth. The outer ring is connected to the inner part with a piece of rubber. The rubber has been known to go bad and lose its adhesion.
