Crank Seal Leaking...already replaced three times!!!

Crank Seal Leaking...already replaced three times!!!

WTF? what can be causing the crank seal to leak? I already changed it 3 times. Any secrets?

Not related, but your old motor's about to come back to life. Almost done with all the preperations, waiting on LE heads.

The only secret I know of is not to bend it when installing it. OTOH, if your hub has a bad groove in it where it meets the seal, it's gonna leak. I believe you can get a repair sleeve to cover a worn hub surface.

Yeah... the shortblock anyway from... someone in Jonesboro (forgot his name). Brought it up here, cleaned it up... waiting on lloyd to finish heads to bring it to life

Are you positive that it's your crank seal? On my friend's TA it turned out to be the timing chain cover gasket. The water pump seal is also famous for leaking. I suggest you add dye to your oil and verify your leak source with a black light.

i guess ill give that a shot....so tired of pulling the hub on/off

It probably takes about 15 min to change the seal hehehe

It's on a stand, bagged and waiting heads. I'll post some pics after I get them on it
