OK, I have taken the three bolts off the pulley. The book says it sould come off and it doesn't. So I am trying to use a puller and the whole pulley moves. Need help asap.

 

You are going to have to explain "whole pulley moves". If it moves, then it should come off.

Or maybe you mean the crank is spinning? Are you using a puller like this?

 

Yes I mean the pulley is spinning. I am using a puller that has the bolts go into the pulley then you try and pry it off.

 

Does your pulley look like the one in my pic or is it the later model one that has small holes where the jaws of the puller are sitting? If it looks like mine and you are using a puller that threads bolts into the the pulley-to-hub holes, you are pulling on the hub and not the pulley.

 

Yes it looks like yours. I will go to my friends and get the puller you have in the pic and try that one. I will post my results after I try it.

 

you need a 3 finger puller to pull it

and make sure you dont have the fingers around the hub, cause if you do the pully wont come off

 

It isn't working. I have the puller but I can't even get it around the pulley. Need help guys it should be easy but it is driving me crazy. HELP!

 

i had to put mine in and adjust the fingers, as long as the fingers are on the pully and not the hub it will come off

 

Yes I had it on once but the pulley didn't even come off and I had screwed the puller as much as it could.

 

If for some reason the puller doesn't work, use a large prybar and wedge it up against the front swaybar. Put it on the edge on the pulley and kick it hard with your foot. Then do the other side of the pulley and it should come right off Sometimes you just have to improvise

When putting my underdrive pulley on I just put the old pulley over it? That is what it says but that doesn't make sense to me.

 

And do I put the belt on the underdrive pulley or the stock pulley.

 

Glad that worked for ya!! You place the underdrive pulley on the harmonic balancer hub. Make sure you get it on there flush, may need to get a piece of wood and put it against the pulley and hit it with a sledge hammer to get it on there good. Then just take the big *** pulley and put it on the underdrive one and use an air gun or just tighten the bolts really good. Make sure everything looks flush so it won't wobble. My advice would be to put some locktight red on all 3 balancer bolts to keep them from wobbling loose later. Better to be safe then sorry I always say. Then put the belt on the underdrive pulley and you'll be set. The balancer pulley just has to be installed like that in case your wondering. Keeps the engine externally balanced
