crane valve springs

crane valve springs

need some help i just bought the lt1 valve spring kit from crane cam i have never done valve springs before was just wondering if some one could give me some tips about how they did it and about the shims and stuff

You need to get spring locators for this kit as it has none. Also you'll need a good spring compressor if your attemting to swap them in the car, I've have the new crane compressor that does 2 springs at a time, and lathough it's a bit pricey it makes this jod easy.
The shims should be used below the locators to correct for installed hight that is usually measured by a spring micrometer.
