Question Crane or GM Performance Roller Rockers?

Are both pretty much the same? Im planning on getting self aligning ones. Since I already have hardened pushrods, would it be wise to get non-self aligning with guides?

Will any of these fit under my stock valvecovers with no modifications?

Rob

The GM sa rockers do fit under stock valve covers without modification.

I'm running the Crane self-aligning 1.6s and really like them. However, I haven't heard anything bad about the GMs. I'm not sure, but the GMs may be built by Crane.

Although first, you need to decide if you're going with NSA, or SA. Personally, I like the SA's on the LTs.

Im leaning towards the crane self aligning ones. Are they really loud compared to stock? Also, did u have to modify the valve covers?

Here is my list..

Part Number: CRA10758-16
$314.95

2 . LT4 SB Chevrolet Valve Spring Kit
Part Number: 12495494
$32.95

3 . GM Performance Parts SB Chevy LT4 Valve Spring Cap Kit
Part Number: 12495492
$14.95

4 . GM Performance Parts LT4 SB Chevy Valve Spring Shim
Part Number: 10212809

I plan on getting fel-pro valve seals at autozone. What am I missing in this list? Is their stuff I don't need? I just wanna double check this and not mess anything up.

Re: Crane or GM Performance Roller Rockers?

With the Crane narrow-body, self-aligning 1.6s your factory valve covers "will fit" without any modifications to the stock valve covers. The LT4 springs are also a great upgrade, then later if you add the Hot Cam, you're ready to go! Basically, that is what I did (rockers and springs) then hot can a few months later with some PCMforLess tuning. Everything worked well together, moved me from the mid 13s down into the 12s. A few more mods and I was in the 12.40s. Check out my 1997 Z28 auto at the link below.
