Crane 10302 or Comp 918s
Crane 10302 or Comp 918s
edit:...oops I meant crane 10308 kit in the title...
I tried a search, but I couldn't find the comparison that I was looking for...
Anyway, when I got my heads back from the porter, they had the Crane 10308 spring kit on them with steel retainers. I'm curious if it would be worth the extra $ to replace them with the Comp Cams 26918s...I have not got a cam picked out yet, but I was thinking of talking to Bret Bauer about a custom cam. I'm thinking something in the gm847 range, so I intend to rev high if neccessary. Oh yeah, about the rest of the motor, 350ci four-bolt main, Stock crank, Scat 4340 rods, Probe flattop pistons w/4cc valve reliefs, C/R is 11.7:1 (i'm pretty sure anyway), and the heads flow 270 @ .600. Opinions?

Re: Crane 10302 or Comp 918s
918s, i've seen people selling them with titanium retainers for like 170 with very low miles. I got mine for 115 i think NIB, they're good for .600 lift and control the valvetrain very well. With those heads you should see 420 rwhp

those are the kind of #s I'm hoping for. Anyone else have an opinion on this? Or maybe high rpm experiance with the cranes?
