cracked head????

I was just gettin on the highway when i heard a major exhaust leak... It same out of nowhere... Got the car back home and figured i had blown out the old header gasket... I bought a new set... dead soft aluminum.. put them on and still have a big exhaust leak... the leak is on the pass side rear of the head... seems like it is comin out of the "extra" header bolt hole on the last port??? These are pretty new heads from Lloyd elliott.. not even 1000 miles yet and now this.... Does this make sens to anyone?? The gasket i took out was in fact bad but the new one def shoulda sealed that up... Am i supposed to put a plug in it or something???

thanks
jeremy

It could possibly be your Y-pipe bolts are loosely connected to the headers/exhaust manifold.

Are you sure its not the EGR pipe (if your headers have an EGR port)?

Is the header flange straight? What headers?

I had the same problem, persistent header leak....bought locking header bolts and percy gaskets, still leaked. Turns out the crappy *** headers were warped. Bought new headers and it went away.
