crack on the intake manifold?

ive gotta 95 z28 stock. It starts fine and will take off fine unless i give more than half pedal. It will run fine for about 5-10 minutes and then it will try to die and sputter down to 500 and below rpms and then i give it full throttle and it just takes off and if im where i cant do that it dies and when i try to start it it wont start. Unless i put the pedal to the floor and i usually have to do it a few times to get to stay running. and everytime i start it after it dies on me it white smokes. any help anyone could give me would be greatly appreciated. oh it started right after i replaced the plugs and wires and a/c compressor.

I would of guessed you had a dying fuel pump, but the white smoke usually means a head gasket. You really need to get the car scanned or if not people will just throw out crazy suggestions.

Where did you go to get it scanned? if you go to autozone they usually screw it up, because you have a 95 car. They aren't smart enough to realize its an OBD1 pcm with an OBD2 plug. So they see the OBD2 plug and usually hook up an OBD2 scanner which won't work with your OBD1 pcm.

Re: crack on the intake manifold?

Got the car scanned at autozone and they said that the car couldnt be scanned because one of the wires had been tapped into or some bs which they arent. And there is no one reasonably close enough to scan the car so if anyone has any idea it would be great. The car sounds like air is be forced out from somewhere when i shutoff the car. and it is not the fuel pump or filter for sure.

Re: crack on the intake manifold?

you have a big problem just like me i think...if your getting white smoke out your exhaust you might have a possible blown head gasket with a leak on your manifold your car could run lean high enough to 160 and destroy your piston and heads>!>you better take that to the pro's>!>>! in my case i dont try to start the engine for that long till i figure out what's cosing the problem i scanned my car and didn't get any trouble codes but my engine light is on...so i suggest you do desame thing don't keep your car running for lmore than 5mins or it could really damage some valuable parts!!!
