Exclamation Could a knock sensor trouble code cause transmission issues?

My recently built transmission (rebuilt in march) had been awesome, but a couple weeks ago, first time at the dragstrip, it hung up in 2nd and bounced off the rev limiter -wouldn't shift into 3rd.

Fluid level was fine... Thought it was a fluke thing, but then the problem was duplicated. It did it to me a half dozen times in the next 2 days. So I took it back to the shop that built it.

They've had it for a week, and told me there was a knock sensor trouble code after the 2nd day they had it. They said that if there was a loose wire or a wire contacting metal, or something... That it could cause the transmission to do that. They said they would look for a loose wire as a possible cause before they went into the tranny.

I called back today because it's supposed to be done, and they said they were going to replace the knock sensor today because they've still been getting that trouble code. Apparently they are trying to avoid going into the mechanics of it if they don't have to, which is fine with me--- as long as my still new transmission works like it's supposed to.

Could that be causing this? Because I'm not too sure that I'm convinced.
