correct locks for 918 springs

correct locks for 918 springs

hey guys i am running stock heads what are the correct locks to run on these springs the ones i have seem to be sort of big and don't fit right thanks

Found the right locks that i need turns out that i need

which is 648-16

instead of the 614-16 that i received.

Depends on the retainers. They have to match. Do you have 7 or 10 degree retainers?

For the LT1 you really should use the +.050" locks which are 10 degree hardware.

i have 7 degree retainers are they the wrong ones?

Those are the correct locks for your retainers. Hopefully your install height will be correct.

should i return the retainers and get the 10 degree ones. Would that be a safer bet i really don't want to mess around with the wrong installed spring height.

The 918 springs were made for the LSx motors. Hence then fact that in order to achieve the recommended install height, a +.050" lock is made.

These locks, however, were only made as 10 degree hardware so they require 10 degree retainers. They are what was recommended to me when I put them on and I didn't have any problems.

Whether you want to return them or not is up to you.

do you know what the correct part number for the lock is and the part number for the retainers i need i'll return both and then order the correct stuff thanks
