Copper Spark Plugs.

I heard from a friend that the Autolite 104 copper spark plugs are good for an lt1. I know that platinum is the norm, anyone have any experience with these or know if this is true?

Platinium costs and lasts more than copper, its not good for nitrous though.

Yeah, I was happy with my Bosch +4 plugs when I was still naturally aspirated, but switched to NGK TR6 plugs when I bolted the N2O on. I believe platinum plugs run very hot, and didn't want to risk detonation on the juice.

I also use the autolite 104's, been in there now for 3 years now, no problems.

The thing with the platinum plugs is the pucks on the tips get blown away, thus instantly opening your gap to .090 of perhaps even larger. There have been quite a few posts about this phenomenon.

Hope this helps

I think I'm gonna get the autolite 104s as long as they're not too expensive, you know a site I can order them from? I haven't seen them available anywhere.

I'm running the champion copper plugs in my car. They work like a charm. Although, if you're running NA and no internal engine work, there really is no need to run anything other than the platinum plugs. But if you have plans for something bigger down the road, do the copper plugs.

The Autolite is a great plug. I ran them for years with great results.

As I recall ... .035 - .038, but that was in a super charged application, you may want to go wider if the engine is normally aspirated.

Hope that helps
