yup I got a ticket for loud mufflers, it reads LOUD MUFF..... Im gunna definatly fight it, 1 because I just bought new mufflers that week and were still in the mail. And 2 because who is to say what is a LOUD MUFF.... not the damn cop with a stick up his ***. I was way to nice to that guy, then he just grabbed my pba card and said I think ill keep this, now just wait 5 minutes and ill have your ticket.

 

 

If she said anything about the cat, I would have NO arguement at all. But the muffer/ cat back is a dif story. That is perfectly legal and they can't check cats in IL on CARS (can on trucks). As of now, I've never hears of anyone getting a ticket in this area for loud mufflers and the only ppl who have gotten warnings were pretty damn loud. I just think she had nothing to do and wanted to be a bitch. I will ask for her badge # if she bothers me again and I know a lawer really well who has a vette w/ corsa who I'm sure would help me out. I just don't want it to come to that as I will never see her again in 3 weeks. I would fight a ticket all the way but it would be a PITA if I live 2.5 hours away. I dont think that Peoria has any decibel readers (the police dept) and if they did I doubt it was calibrated. There are just so many loud ricers, trucks, and harleys that are obnoxious that I can hardley believe they are messing with me. I drive defensively and don't show off (in the city ). The county cops are much nicer and would never bother me but city cops are just plain a$$holes. They could fight crime-P-town has a huge drug problem among other things-but she spends an hour in my work's parking lot doing absolutely nothing. It's actually a church parking lot. In all legality- i dont think she could give me a ticket b/c she would only have me driving OFF ROAD in a parking lot.

This was kind of a stupid post but thanks for helping me vent on a ragging porker.

 

I bet her 98 was a V6. They are similar to an LT1 right??? especially with a cc305 and borla. lol. Even if it was a Z28 or even an SS they aren't comprable. I have yet to hear an LS1 loud or lopey (in my area-im SURE they exist). They sound pretty stock/tame w/ just a few mods. Damn sleepers-that's my next car (keeping this one tho)
