Cooling

Car runs hot with the AC turned off. Doesn't overheat with it off but runs well into the 200's when ideling for more than 5-min's

Need help Thanks...

Are you low on coolant? Also, your fans could not be working. Has your car thrown a code?

Coolant Level is fine. No codes yet but could be the fan. I hear the fan start with the AC on but I don't hear it start when the AC if off.

Confusing?

Your primary fans don't turn on until 215 degrees, and the secondary speed kicks on around ~225. These cars are designed to run hot for emissions purposes. What you're experiencing is a most likely normal condition.

Those of us with modified cooling systems see temperatures no higher than 170 degrees, regardless of running conditions.

Actually they kick in at 226 and 235.

setting them to come on at 180-185 works like a charm
