Coolant overfolw

Today I was driving home to change my oil when i noticed the smell of coolant. when i looked, it was dripping from the engine. I couldnt find anywhere it was leaking from. I pulled the battery out to see if there was a hole in my overflow. The hose from the box to the radaitiator was so corroded that i could not even see it. I pulled it out, cleaned it up and sure enough, that was the problem. How much does the overfolw cost?

I'd like to know the same thing. I know you have to buy it one piece with the battery mount.

NO if you block it off when the radiator build to much pressure the coolant would have no place to go to releive the pressure. hence to much pressure = blowed radiator and or overheating probs

the cap works as a valve when the pressure gets to much the collant goes into the recovery once the pressure in the radiator drops it opns again and sucks the coolant out of the overflow back into the radiator

Mine was $33 at the dealer. Dont have a p/n, they should just be able to look it up for you.
