Coolant Line behind the heads...
Coolant Line behind the heads...
Best way to remove the brackets for the coolant line behind the heads? Need to get the heads off and this is the only thing still connecting it, had a hell of a time trying to get a wrench back in there. Any tips? Also that sensor right below the bracket, whats it for? It threads right into the block.

it's a 15mm if you cant it off it might be striped... if not pull the heads off all at once.. with some help .. then take it off with vice grips.. go to a gm dealer and get new ones

I cut all of mine. Any lt-1 that goes together, they get cut. I put about 1" distance between the cuts which allows me enough room to put a piece of hose in there. 2 hose clamps turned the right way and you will never have to remove the steam tubes again. Undo a hose clamp and you can take individual heads off. Put head back on and attached your spliced in piece of hose. Easy.

They can be difficult to access, but I managed to get mine with out any damage to the banjo bolt or the lines. I used a long 15mm closed end wrench and used a hand sledge to tap the wrench handle to loosen them.

I took all the head bolts out of both heads and had two people pick the heads up at once and removed the lines outside the car. But a 15 mm rachet wrench works great as well
