coolant leaking near passenger side firewall!

after driving around in warm temps the other day, i noticed the temp gauges going up much higher than normal at while stopped at red lights. when i got home and parked the car i heard a sizzling sound. i looked underneath my car and saw that a BIG spill of coolant was on the ground near the passenger side exhaust pipe. i look a flash light and it looks like it was coming from somewhere near the firewall on the passenger side.

i changed the coolant earlier on the year but dont think i got all the air out of the system.. could this have caused it to puke out in this area?

Sounds like one of your heater hoses is bad.

the leak is coming near the bottom of the car, not the two top rubber hoses. it looks to be a metallic area (it was at night that i noticed this and was shining the flashlight in the area where i think the leak originated from).

hey man..

dont think so.. its coming from something really close to the firewall. its dripping directly over the y-pipe i believe.

Interesting. The only two things I can think of that are that close to the firewall on the passenger side are the heater hoses, or the steam tube on the back of the head.

where is the heater core in these cars? I know in my old stang, coolant leaked froma little nipple on the passenger side firewall when my heater core started taking a dump.

The core itself is inside the passenger compartment, on the passenger side under the dash. Maybe this will help...
