Ok...so it seems that the coolant temp sensor just blew off! I clipped it back on...doesnt seems like a very effective connection, all thats holding it in place is a thin metal clip. What could have caused this to happen? Any ideas?

Maybe too much pressure in the radiator? Have your radiator cap tested or replaced.

Get a new cap, I dont like autzone etc caps them stant ones look very cheap. I would go to gm there high like 10 bucks but solved my promblem of too much pressure. Also make sure you dont have too much coolant in your system. try that and let usknow.

Mine leaks like crazy when I fill it up until it gets to a certain level. I think it's coming from the return line under the battery, but I haven't had the chance to check yet.

Mines on the passenger side, but I can't see where it's coming from by looking under the hood.

That's the coolant level sensor, not the coolant temp sensor.

The coolant temp sensor is located in the water pump housing.

The coolant gauge sensor is located in the drivers side cylinder head.

Hope this helps,
Christian

yep, that's what i meant, it's pretty obvious that a level sensor would be near the cap and a temp sensor needs to be closer to what it's reading the temp of.

I guess its true that animals are attracted to the smell of coolant. After my leak the other day, there was alot of residual coolant left under the hood. Today I opened the hood...there was a squirrel chillin on top of my motor! The little bugger didnt want to leave, he ran behind the motor...I was forced to fire up the engine, then he ran away. Just thought id share this random occurance.

Also...does anyone have the GM part# for a new radiator cap?
