coolant leak after opti install help!!
hi after the opti install and bleeding the system everything was fine but after 2 days driving 20 miles a day i saw some coolant on near the bolts on the WP and near the t-stat thing and also some in the intake elbow on the top of it so im guessing is some hose or something. i dunno if i messed up but i didnt put any sealant on the t-start thing cuz i didnt see any there to begin with im not gonna drive the car cuz im scared to crap the opti out. thanks.

The thermostat housing does not use a gasket, but there should be a good o-ring on the thermostat, itself. Also the housing sealing surfaces should be debris free so it can seal. The small bolts are only torqued to 89 lb. in.
Thread sealant should be used on the water pump mounting bolts.

You are more than likely leaking from your waterpump somewhere. Having coolant where you described seeing it kind of sounds like it is coming from the weep hole where it drips directly onto the serpentine belt and slings the coolant everywhere. Hopefully it is like Shoebox has directed to with a leak coming from a bolt that just needs a little coersion with some sealant.

thanks apparently it was that. vuz the one near the tstat was loose by about half turn. it was still tight but not all the wayy. i watched it for about 15min and it didnt leak anywhere. i also cleanned the TB with some TB cleanner spray and my TB response is a lot better thanks.
